Item: ORVILLE WRIGHT  OF AVIATION FAME, LIVED NEAR THE HARTZELL FAMILY IN OHIO. IN 1917 ORVILLE ENCOURAGED ROBERT N. HARTZELL TO MANUFACTURE AIRCRAFT PROPELLERS. AS A RESULT, THE HARTZELL WALNUT PROPELLER COMPANY WAS FOUNDED.  IN 1981 THE COMPANY WAS SOLD TO TRW INC. THIS LISTING OFFERS YOU THE OPPORTUNITY TO PURCHASE AN AUTHENTIC HARTZELL WOODEN PROPELLER.

• The length is 98 inches. The outside diameter of the center hub is 9 1/8 inches. The hole diameter of the center hub is 3 3/4 inches.
• The weight is 27 pounds.
• My guess on the age is circa 1920 / 1930. The size, weight and age are Approximate.
• The propeller is made of wood and has an old worn finish (photo #1 thru #3).
• Stamped in two places is the name HARTZELL (photo #7).
• Stamped on the hub is D SION 667 62 (98),  AC NO 42 9935 A,  ENGINE R 680 9,  AIRPLANE 0 49, 0 49 A (photo #5 & #6).
• The rear of the hub is stamped 22437.
• The Propeller is being sold for decorative use and is in no way intended to be used on an aircraft.
• This item is available for you to inspect at our showroom Mon. thru Sat. 10am to 5pm. We also encourage you to carefully read our listing and review the photos. The item is being sold "As Is, Where Is."  Any questions feel free to give us a call.

Condition: 

This HARTZELL PROPELLER is in good condition with normal wear and aging. Expect to find dings, dents, scratches, finish wear and losses, expansion, contraction, shrinkage separations, discolorations, surface oxidation, etc. PLEASE REVIEW ALL THE PHOTOS CAREFULLY.  We want everyone to be happy.

Shipping Policy:

• You may pick the item up at our showroom and we are willing to hold it for up to 90 days at no charge.
• If you decide to ship the item, the buyer is responsible for making all the arrangements and pay for packing, shipping, insurance, etc. You are encouraged to use a shipper of your choice. • When picked up at the showroom or shipped within Pennsylvania there is 6% Pa. Sales Tax.
• When shipped out of state there is no Pa. Sales Tax.
