As a Comanche
owner who struggled with changing the bungees on our plane for over 20 years,
we decided to design the best bungee tool around. That is, the safest, fastest,
easiest to use bungee tool ever. This combination stretcher-installer tool
employs both right and left handed jackscrews made from smooth turning
industrial grade Acme threaded rod to double its mechanical advantage. In fact
the efficiency of the tool is great enough that you can easily use it to remove
the old bungee by expanding the tool with just your fingers. Because this tool
can fully expand and contract while in use, it does not require the upper body
strength it takes to insert previous fixed length single-piece installer tools.
Stretching and installing a new bungee with the combo tool is greatly enhanced
by employing the Alden open-end ratchet wrench. See article in the June 2011
