Piper Comanche background:

The Piper PA-24 Comanche is an American four-seat, low-wing, all metal, retractable tricycle landing gear aircraft.  It first flew on May 24, 1956 and together with the PA-30/39 Twin Comanche, made up the core of the Piper Aircraft production until 1972, when production lines were catastrophically destroyed by flood waters.     The emblem of a stylized twin engine aircraft carries a single feather representing single pilot operation.  The background of the shield contains five stars, representing its state of manufacture, Pennsylvania and its five trails leading to historic Lock Haven. Indian settlements.
