This is an original Piper manufactured part number 79584-08, described as "BRACKET ASSEMBLY - Compressor, lower" in the Piper parts manual, which lists it as being applicable to PA-28-140, PA-28-180, and PA-28R-200 aircraft models that are equipped with Air Conditioning.
It was removed from an operational 1974 PA-28-140 aircraft during maintenance to upgrade some engine accessories.
The bracket was recently painted partially with black Rustoleum paint; the unpainted portions of the bracket do not show any signs of rust.
