BUY A SPARE!Bendix Scintilla SB9RN Magneto (s/n: 085459) in Surplus Military Overhauled Condition by N.A.S. (Naval Air Station in Pensacola, Florida). These fit the Pratt & Whitney R985 and R1340 Engines used in various WWII era aircraft such as AT-6 Texan (SNJ), BT-13 Valiant, C-45 (D-18) Twin Beech, Stearman, Otter, Beaver and various other aircraft which use the R985 and R1340 Engines. It turns freely and the points spark when spun. I opened the back contact points cover to show that they are new platinum points. It is complete with both Blocks, Booster Terminal Screw, Ground Terminal Screw and P/Lead Terminal Screw & Nut Assembly. In as much as it is a surplus overhauled unit, it should be checked out by an authorized mechanic or shop before use. As I have no way of testing it other than spinning the drive, there is no warranty or guarantee expressed or implied.
